Anyone know how to turn off the infuriating second wipe that happens about 5 seconds after you've sprayed screenwash?
When you do a spray the wipers go about 3 or 4 times then stop - fine. Then 5 secs later they do another single wipe smearing crap all over the screen again (esp. in this snowy slush type of weather). Why did they ever think this was a good idea?
Can it be turned off??:aargh4:

The delayed wipe is a brilliant idea! it clears the splatter that flicks off the wipers back onto the window, if your wipers are smearing, then they need changing.
In answer to your question though - no idea lol
I think the "tear drop" wipe can be cancelled with VCDS..

All you need to do is press the wiper stalk down once (as if doing a single sweep) any time during the first 3-4 wipes.
I tend to agree that usually this second wipe is a good thing, but at this time of year can be a pain when your screen gets splattered with salt etc. between the initial wash/wipe and the follow up.
Hope this helps.

Yes it can be turned off
Go to address 09 adaption channel 13
Channel 013: Wiper Setup
Standard: 115
+001 = Speed Reset
+002 = Short to Plus Monitoring
+004 = Rain Sensor active
+008 = Long Post Wiping after Washing (Drop/Tear Wiping)
+016 = Speed dependent Wiper interval active
+032 = Headlight Washer System active
+064 = Reverse Gear Wiping active
subtract the value 8 from the total sum and save it

My A4 B7
Wiper Setup is currently set to 114 (I don't know why)
I note 115 is standard figure.
If I add +008 to 115 = 123 will the enable the post wipe?.
Also what affect will it have to the fact it's currently set to 114.
Cheers

Thinks the wipe at the end is great. Had a 2001 volvo S60 and always thought it needed one. Hey presto the 2003 onwards do - great idea IMHO!

I agree, had it on another car and want to add it to my A4 if someone can confirm if my last post is correct.
