Hi All

Wondered if there is anyone out there who can give me some advice.

I have a H plate Audi 80 which has developed a fuel leak. Fuel is only leaking when the engine is running. Have had a look and from what I can tell its leaking at the point petrol leaves the fuel pump on its way to the engine.

Its not a major leak only steady drops and the car still runs but then idle the smell can be over welling if the climate fan is running.

I need a way to fix this so I can keep the car on the road until February when I can replace it. Does anyone have a cheap fix I can use. Thought of some sort of hardening putty to seal it but not sure if its a good idea.

My only other option is to take is down the scrap yard or break it up, which is a shame as engine seems to be really strong. Even if the body is not that great

Thanks
Ben

Is it not just a matter of replacing a hose?

Which is was, from what i can see, and its not easy too.

The fuel pump is connected to the steel pipes running under the rear RHS of the car to the engine. The leak is at the point the pipes link to the fuel pump

There is no substance you can put on that to stop a petrol leak. You need to remove the pipe and there is the possibility you can braze it where it is leaking and replace the copper washers,or replace the pipe

Hi

You could cut out the damaged section and splice in a suitable sized piece of fuel hose with fuel inj hose clips each end?
If the break is too close to the pump outlet, you may be able to match up an adaptor from here:

Some owners use suitable sized stainless microbore heating pipe from a plumber's to replace the whole pipe..
