Mk3 engine swap with Mk5

Hi was wondering whether it was possible to do this..I ahve a 97 Mk3..I love it to bits but was wondering whether I can drop in the mkV engine in its bay..any done this or can this be done ??

You can fit any engine in any car......if you have mechanical knowledge or lots of money...

You contemplating doing it yourself or paying a garage to do it for you? Which MK V engine did you have in mind?

yes i will need to source out a good mechanic..I'm thinking the Gti..but I have no knowledge on engine swaps or what are the inmplications of doing it. Do I have to buy just the enigine and transmission and the wiring as well..but how do they fit in the mkIII concole. Is this all feasable or should I just go in the the Mk3 1.8T engine which is another beast and a more doable project...what do u think ?
