I need a spare key for my recently purchased Golf GTI.
Looking on eBay there seems to be new remote flip keys for sale quite readily for about £40. After reprogramming costs, this is almost £100 - shall I just pay the £20 extra for a VW supplied key?

for just £20 extra its better if you get it from vw dealer.
it saves you all the hassle of cutting, program etc..

A bit off topic, but still vaguely relevant, does anyone know whether remote central locking is available on a car that has key operated central locking? What I'm thinking, is if one of those flip fobs is bought and programmed to your car by a W *******, can the buttons for remote central locking be used or is it just to have a nicer looking key on your keyring? :approve:
