Hello to one and all,
Hope you are all keeping well and these trying times are not having to much of an impact for you.
I am here looking for some advice if i may...
Took my 2013 C7 A6 (3.0 S-line 245, Stronic) in to Halfords for a Full Service, MOT and 2 new front tires on Monday -Went there last year with no issues and decent service (customer service).
Collected my car on Tuesday morning and was greeted with this (video), The chap agreed it wasnt there prior and took it back into the bay, claimed he hooked it up to diagnostics (i presume to just clear any codes) then took it out for a quick spin - returned and all ok.
I went home.
two days later i got in to take my daughter to school and they are all back on again, Once driven a little bit some of the errors clear, once engine off and restart they all clear.
Called Halfords that day and explained, they got very defensive - nothing we have done could have caused this blah blah, now there has NEVER been any errors in 4 years of me having it, only low pressure and service due. He agreed to take it back in on Sat for troubleshooting and perhaps an auto electrician but depending on outcome may charge me...
Few peeps on facebook suggested a Battery issues others ABS Sensor, so got a new battery on the car, Got Halfords to test my battery and gave me the print out - bat @ 53% so i replaced, they told me it was an 019 and ordered it in.... it was an 020!
Had Battery fitted, kept car live and they ran an exide unit to program my car to new batt (not Halfords), made NO changes.Went back to Halfords, told me that they still dont know and dont think it is anything to do with them so they booked it into an Auto Electrician for tomorrow; im worried they will be bias towards Halfords tbh and cost will be passed back to me.Took it on a long run today and when i stopped at a services an AA dude parked next to me so i just got talking and he said he would look again, got his gear out and hooked me up, he rekons my ABS Control Module is screwed and gave me this report:Patrol found the following fault code/s: System : Engine control 1 - VE9 / Diesel EDC 17CP44 UDSU111300 - Function restriction due to fault value received. Error Message : .P067200 - Glow plug, cylinder 2. Error Message : Circuit defective.P067600 - Glow plug, cylinder 6. Error Message : Circuit defective. Attended vehicle found various abs related data bus codes. Suspect abs module failure. Advised member to drive directly to garage for further diagnosis and repair. Engine Oil Level Ok. Coolant Level Ok.He tried to clear them but said it failed, however, by the time i drove out of the carpark the faults cleared for about 2 minutes. Anyone got any thoughts to share, are Halfords likely to blame (i know i am for taking it there in the first place....) or is it just a coincidence?... i dropped my car with them with no errors collected with errors - to me, this happened in their care.I am planning on going to an Audi Specialist and having a master tech look at my car on Tuesday next week for a second opinion.
