How to find PIN/SKC for Mk5 Golf

Hi Ive got a 2009 Mk5 Golf 1.9 BLS Bluemotion in which wont let me login. I get this error while trying to access adaptions under engine.....


"Prior to adapting a new USED Engine Control Unit the vehicle specific PIN/SKC (IMMO-Login) of the new USED engine control unit has to be used to enable the adaptation. Youll find the PIN/SKC on the key tag of the additional key (of the donor car) and you can aquire it through your responsible distribution centre or importer"


The guy has just bought the car and doesnt know of any new ECU, there is no second key and doesnt want to pay the dealership unless its a last resort. Is there any way to access the code?

Two cars in a week with exactly the same problem, very strange. The owner knows a bit more about this one and its had the clocks changed.....

You can no longer obtain the SKC or indeed even use it, the PIN is accessible with systems such as CAN Commander but cloned dodgy versions are very unreliable. The reliable way is with ODIS so a main dealer or so equipped specialist. When doing this job in ODIS you now see absolutely nothing, it is all done remotely.

Had a Leon in today with exactly the same issue. 3 cars in one week, no way! It cant be a coincidence its only happened since I updated to 19.6.1 on VCDS. Its something they have done on the update thats now asking for this pin before I can do anything in adaptions. Will drop them an email and try and go back to the old version in the meantime just to confirm.
