Hi all,
I've just bought this and knew it had a few problems but got it relatively cheap so took a gamble.
The engine management light and traction control light was on. Its reading code P0411 so I've checked the hoses and couldn't really see much wrong. There's some abrasion down by the front left just as it heads down to the pump where it rubs on a another similar looking hose but not sure its worn through. Maybe a little pin hole. I'll put some resin over it to see if that fixes it and I havent been under the car yet to see it from that angle. Is there anything else it could be?? And how do I check?
Also, the car has a hesitation. Its worse when its cold but still there when its warmed up. Seems OK when accelerating but when just pulling away slowly it seems to hesitate. I'm quite sure its running on all cylinders so not sure if it could be a coil pack? I've cleaned the maf with electrical cleaner spray from maplin and I've just had a new air filter arrive (old one is pretty rotten). I'm guessing its u likely these 2 problems are connected??
Cheers in advance [emoji1]

check all connections , tape them up if necessary as it could be the plastic pipes are ok, yet any rubbers might have gone stiff and lose their ability to flex/ be air tight

Plastic pipes also go brittle , crack and snap ............... even collapse inwards

Solenoids might be ok resistance wise and don't flag up any codes, yet are seized in workings

And service the car fully

That's fuel filter, oil & oil filter , air & pollen with new spark plugs and coil packs .

Then see how she runs

Great, thanks Niall. Had another look last night and found a split. Will change that and see how she is, in the meantime I've changed the filter and ordered all the other parts.... Shes going in for a WELL overdue cambelt next week butbits got 600 mile round trip to do first. Hope she holds out!!

Ok, a bit of an update;
She's had a full service, cambelt, tensioner and pulley, Bosch plugs, Bosch coil packs, new maf, oil and filter change along with all the filters..... it made no difference!!! Pretty much at my whits end with it.
Tonight I removed the throttle body and cleaned it up.....sorted!!!
So annoyed I replaced the coils etc and all it needed was the TB cleaned!!! Still, doesn't need servicing now for a while!
Cheers all
