I've been to look at a car today. It was generally in very good condition but had a few small dents in the bodywork. Can these be repaired easily? Any advice appreciated......

PDR specialist .

Some of them take seconds to fix , totally invisible .

Avoid any 'smart repairs' which involve paint. They look terrible after about 6 months.

I would be careful getting a dent removal guy to do it on the a6. The aluminium body is harder than steel so it's difficult to get out. On my first a6 I had a guy come out to do a dent in the crease of the door and he said because it's harder than steel he could make it look worse as more effort is needed and you get more of a memory effect on aluminium that you do on steel.
In the end I left it.

Speak to a local Audi dealer about who they use. May not be the cheapest but at least they will be experienced working on Audis

The car I looked at was at an Audi dealership and it will be Audi carrying out the repairs. (Or their local smart repair centre) It needs a few small dents removing and paint repair. I'm just concerned what the repair might look like in a couple of years time........

Seen some smart paint repairs and they can look good But I can't see it lasting long.
Used to work next to a car hire place and these guys were always there. They basically erect a tent/poly bag then start painting the cars in the open. With wind blowing and weather I can't see how they get a good finish unlike a professional body shop as the surface could be full of contaminants.
I would ask the dealer if the smart repairs will be covered under the Audi paint warranty and if they say yes then get it in writing and let them do it.
If it's a surface scratch then a detailer with a machine polish can remove most of them without it leaving much of a mark depending on how deep it is.

They look ok for a few months then deteriorate.
