Hi, on behalf of a friend in France who has a 1999 B5 1.8 that stopped on him the other day. the car will re-start and tick overat approx 500rpm, but there is no throttle response other then a tiny increase in revs to about 750. The only warning light that is on is the EPC light. He has already replaced the throttle pedal unit without any difference. Any ideas? As far as I can make out EPC is Electronic Power Control, Where is this unit situated and are there any tests to carry out, other than take it to a specialist for a plug in? (not practical as the car won't drive and he lives in the middle of nowhere!
Thanks in advance
Tim

he needs to get it plugged into a computer to do anything. you need to now the fault code first, r you could be throwing hours of time and loads of parts at it and go nowhere. he needs to either find one of our french members to help, or find another enthusiast or garage who can come out, or get it recovered.
