Paper Counterpart Licence Being Scrapped

Anyone else heard that the paper counterpart part of your driver's licence is being phased out as of January 2015?

Got a source? As no tax disc = less cost, maybe no paper licence is a less cost option too.

I heard about it on a Ford forum that I've joined since the Wife got a Mondeo, but I've just found this:
