View Full Version : Mudflap Options for A6 - C7 Saloon: BE/S-Line

I know this is an old subject; and I have done my best to read the various previous threads.

I think I need to go for mud flaps as I plan to keep the car a long time and the winters seem to be getting longer/wetter/harsher where I am. Before I make the plunge and get buying: I was wanting to test my understanding of the correct part numbers and fitting issues. If necessary I probably would be happy to just go with the Fronts, as the Rears seem to be problematical.

Options seem to be:

Front: Audi Part: 4G0075111.
These will fit tho the dealer says they dont. Just need to be concious of the clearance when negotiating kerbs etc.
These being OEM Audi Parts; there are pre-formed/drilled hole locations for the supplied fitting kit screws.

Rear: (Potential) Audi Part: 4G0075101.
General opinion seems to be that these either wont fit; or need a bit of modification/drilling to make fit.
Then there is issue of what the finished result looks like.

Anyone point me in the directions of any pictures with these parts fitted to a A6 Salloon; BE/S-Line?

If my part numbers are right, I can get both front and rears from Ebay; for what I think is a good price:
AUDI A6 ALLROAD 2012 2014 GENUINE MUD FLAPS GUARDS MADE IN GERMANY FRONT & REAR | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A6-ALLROAD-2012-2014-GENUINE-MUD-FLAPS-GUARDS-MADE-IN-GERMANY-FRONT-REAR-/271408864966?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AAudi%7CModel%3AA6+Allroad&hash=item3f313a9ec6)
Tho this seller is has these guards labelled for an Allroad; my review of previous threads and various catalogues are that these parts would fit a Saloon: Do you agree?

Any advice gladly taken.

Good price compared to the dealers if they fit.

I'm thinking that the fronts are pretty certain. With a bit of a gamble on the rears.

Still worth it. My wife's car doesn't have them and the mess up the side is awful. Also seems to pick up a lot if tar spots. I was told I couldn't get them for my S line but if this works, I may do it myself.

60 quid for both sets. P&p inc. good deal as you say. May order them tomorrow. Tar spots and small nicks in the front sills were part of my concerns; and car only 4 months from new.

I would also be interested in this (in a few months :)) but how about these for under £12?

Looks like the same third party ones from ebay UK (also ship from China) but a bit cheaper. It might actually help if they are really cheap and don’t fit the se very well :D Going to order a set and hopefully they will be here by May lol

I will not fit mine until I swap my winter wheels for summer... MIGHT be late-March depending on time available and weather but otherwise will be mid April cos I am traveling on business.

Washed car today and noticed these plastic stick on protectors on wing/door bottom edges. As stated; tar contamination is issue in these areas. Not sure how these stick on panels will last with my tar spot remover applications. In summary: Need mud guards.

Yeah allroad has them too, as does my wifes A1. Trouble is the splatter from road mess does WAY further up the doors than those things cover.
Was looking at someones 204 bhp C7 Avant and I guess it has narrower wheels.. cos mine stick out an inch or so wider which is fine at the top of the wheel arch but not at the bottom where you can clearly see the edge of the tyre. I think that is why it is so good at throwing crap up the side of the car.

I considered mudflaps when buying the car, and decided it could wait. Now I can see the dirt, specially behind the front wheels, only a few miles after a wash. On a white car, it's quite annoying.

So will follow this thread with attention and depending on feedback will get some flaps as well.

Gmonster

Ehmmmm ; I think I have cocked up here. The flaps I just purchased are part numbers 4G9 ; eg; 4G9075111 for fronts etc: Parts were as labelled for the A6 All Road. The parts that potentially fit the saloons/avants are parts numbers 4G0; eg; 4G0075111 for fronts. Shute! Lesson learned; avoid Late night iPad shopping: Sigh. . . Queue up all you all-road drivers with mud flap needs. Shall report back when received.

Did you get the second set yet? I got the set from China (see below) but it will be a few months before I can try them. Wasn’t expecting much for under £12 :D but they actually look ok.

Mud Flap Woes: Yes I got the second set: Audi Part Nos: Front: 4G0075111. Rear: 4G0075101. And in a nutshell; they dont fit the S-Line: Profile of the leading edge and bottom of sill markedly different from the flap mouldings; front and rear.
The provided flaps are genuine OEM parts; quality mouldings/rubber etc. In process of negotiating return to seller in Poland. (What a palava: A lot of it my own doing :()

So in summary it would appear that there are no suitable OEM Audi Mud Flaps for latest S-Line/RS models. All-Road models; OEM Audi Flaps Available; but S-Line models; No.
All as per the brochures/dealers have been saying. After-market flaps would appear to be the only option.

That happened with the C6 S-Line mudflap situation aswell, the fronts fitted fine but the rears need(ed) a little persuasion/modification for them to fit the S-Line rear bumper.

Gmonster
20-03-2014, 06:08 PM
I think thats where I got found out: My head was turned by the possibilities with the C6 OEM flaps; but the C7 as it turns out, has a markedly different profile. Which is a bit pants really.

Fest: Have you 'offered up' the 'chinese take-away' flaps ? Does it look as if the profiles are kind of matching etc?
Need to get something... as the nicks and scuffs on front half of sills are appearing daily...

Unfortunately I don’t pick up the car until May so no idea if they will fit. There seems to be no A6 model they fit on the ebay compatibility selector, but that might be due to the north american model spec.

At £12 they might be worth a go though:

Quick update.

So I got around to fitting the allroad mudflaps (Audi OEM) that I bought from the eBay link posted much earlier in this thread. Fitted weekend before last.

- Fitting is mostly straightforwards but you do need to get the specific drill bits that they specify (5.5mm and 8.5mm) and you also need an awl (poke holes) and some Torz bits that I already had.
- Front ones (which I did first) are fiddly, especially a couple of self threading nuts which you need to be a gynecologist to locate and restrain whilst you screw in the paired screw. First front took me best part of an hour. Second one I knew what I was doing and got help (second pair of hands) and it went pretty quick, maybe 10 or 15 mins. The rears are a breeze by comparison.
- There is NO WAY the allroad ones will fit a standard A6 - neither front nor rear - as they are shaped to fit over the allroad wheel arch extensions.
- They do seem to help quite a bit with reducing "up the side of the car" road grime :)
- They look pretty good, quite anonymous really. May try to grab a couple of picks if anyone is interested.

They look great… especially with the allroad trim.

I will have a go with the cheap aftermarket ones I got when I pick the car up next week (s-line). Not too hopeful though :aargh4:

Very strange there isn’t an option for the s-line. I would have guessed that mats and flaps were the most popular accessories.

Mud flaps? It's not an Austin Maxi! You'll be fitting those big sticky out caravan wing mirrors next. I saw a c7 with flaps fitted today and they looked dreadful. I think a bit of splatter up the sides looks far better!

You must have a good memory to remember when Maxis had a floor:biglaugh:. My Dad had a garage in those days when you could keep a couple of guys as full time welders. I think my first three cars had new floors and gallons of underseal!

Yes it was always magical to lift the carpets in the old classics. First car was a mk1 escort. Absolute rust bucket; and I loved it: held together front and back by welded panels, some pop riveting and that thick structurally sound underseal you could put on with a trowel. Every Mot was an adventure. I've come a long way since then. Smashing.

Yes it's a dilemma. I understand that fitting flaps is a wee bit out of place with with the cars lines etc; but if you are into keeping the car for the long haul it needs some protection. Ideally some wee stumpy stylised affairs.

After QUITE a bit more real life experience with the mudflaps fitted to my allroad (heck it was wet today and I did a bunch of miles) I can confirm that they really do make a big difference with regards to the sides of the car getting covered in road muck - and I think the back. Not perfect of course but a heck of a lot better than without the mudflaps.

No go with the cheap mudflaps. With a little bit of cutting the rear ones might be ok, but the fronts are a mile out.

Fingers crossed somebody releases a proper set for the s-line.

Hi guys

I have a 2014 A6 C7 Sline and managed to get a set of mudflaps that fit.

In short, they're OEM and for 2015 onwards. But with a little plastic casting resin and some DIY moulding, you can fill in the gaps and they fit just fine. Front mounting is exactly the same. Rears are slightly different but didn't cause so much of an issue that it's a problem.
