I wonder if someone can give me some advice, I'm just going drag my 1995 Audi A4 out the garage and its been sitting for 6 months and noticed that the power steering fluid was on the minimum and ordered some more from GSF.

The problem being when it arrived I had been sent the wrong fluid so I didn't use it luckily before it was too late.

There is no dealership within close proximity and I noticed this on the Halfords website.
Halfords | Halfords Central Hydraulic Fluid (CHF) 1L (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_27 0309_langId_-1_categoryId_255219)
also I see I can buy it through amazon as comma CHF 11 and that would be easier as its just a press of a couple of buttons on the computer.

My neighbour has a trade card for Halfords so I will get a bit knocked off and both my A4 and My 1993 80 Cabriolet need a slight top up and both cars need green mineral fluid to G002000 spec and I'm not sure but I think CHF 11s is to that spec.

Could someone with a bit of knowledge tell me if this is the stuff as I don't want to damage the power steering racks on both cars

regards

Hi,

Just been and checked mine (had to buy a litre for a tiny top up at MOT time!)

Mine is Wynns CHF, bottle states equivalent spec to CHF11S.

This was specified by my local motor factors.

I think you will be fine with the Comma stuff.

Thanks for the advice I've just bought the comma stuff off Amazon for about £8 and its also the same stuff as Halfords own stuff except its half the price even Halfords spec sheet has comma written on the top for the CHF11s,

I was a bit worried as the top of the cap on the power steering pump says use mineral fluid only and CHF11s is synthetic but looking on the web it seems both are designed to mix accordingly and CHF11s is G002000 and the pure mineral fluid stopped being used in 1990.
