OK....I'm up for some berating here as I did look across this forum for previously posted threads relating to the poor position of being unable to pair a phone with a BT installed unit but I was bogged down with 56 returned threads bearing 'bluetooth pairing' and gave up.

The FPO has recently purchased an A3 2011 with Chorus Radio/CD unit and pre-fitted Fiscon BT unit. I managed to pair my own phone to test the functionality of the BT facility but when I tried to connect my wifes phones it was a non-starter 'unable to pair' despite the BT scan finding the Kufatec Fiscon signal/unit.

I've followed some threads advising the max number of paired phones has been reached and a reset is required to clear them out. I've managed to locate the Fiscon 'Quadlock?' unit having taken out the glove box. The advice simply guided readers to unplug, leave for 1 minute then reseat the interface and this will lose all the previously paired phones. Verdict..... Complete load of rubbish!, another try at pairing was a fail so now I need to look further afield.

Do I need to unplug a different interface behind the head unit to lose the previous pairings?,
Do I need to reset the Chorus unit? and if so I havent got a clue how to do that despite my searches/trawls (its out there but I just havent found it yet) so guidance here would be great.
Do I need to install vagcom on a laptop if i can get my hands on a copy to be able to apply factory reset on the Chorus head unit.
Do I just tell myself I'm beaten and take the car to a local audio specilist and hand over some hard earned cash and be done with it?

All responses, guidance and steering plus berating gladly accepted.... many thanks in advance

Welcome to VWAF

If you would've seen this Fiscon Bluetooth Retrofit GUIDE WITH PICS (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?127711-Fiscon-Bluetooth-Retrofit-GUIDE-WITH-PICS) I retrofitted the fiscon to my A3 back in 2011 but changed this for the OEM kit when I bought a RNSE.

Make sure you're using 1234 as the pin code.

Since you managed to connect your phone, connect it again and put this into your keypad to reset the fiscon to factory -

*582#2177

Enter that exactly as shown above and hit dial (it may sound like nothing happens but it does) and you should be ready to go with the other phone.

Thanks A6 Chris, wouldnt you know it..... the phone i used went faulty shortly after I made the pair probably filling up the last pair position, I've had a new one quite recently which now compounds the situation.

Is there any method I can employ to apply factory settings to either the Fiscon unit or the Chorus (if indeed the applying factory settings on the Chorus isnt a futile exercise) ?

I did see your retrofit thread and its that which made me think is there another connection i need to unplug to force a factory reset or with the Chorus is this only possible with correct software... and if theres no bluetooth connection would I still be able to proceed to achieve the factory settings target....

All this and its only the FPO's car! lol Thanks in advance once again

Ian

Resetting the headunit won't do anything nor will vcds.

I think you can return the unit to Fiscon and they can reset it.

Keep trying to pair various phones and make sure the ignition is on too.
