either the plug has snapped and its just the core holding it in, or the thread has gone. either way, unless you are very very lucky, you are going to have to employ someone to help you. it may be possible to extract the plug and clean the thread, but chances are that the head will end up having to come off.

It's not loose it does not move side to side it just spins and won't come out car still starts will there be any problem driving the car like that

in that case i would say the plug itself has snapped and the inner core is stuck in the outer case. the thread is possibly ok.
i think the best course of action would be to see if a good engine shop could get it out, or alternatively just leave it alone. the car should be fine like it is.

it probably won't work, but summers coming up and you won't need them as much.

Not good. When you removed them, was it from cold? The plugs are very fragile. I haven't attempted this on my own car, but have done them before on an 80 TDI and A2 TDI. Not much use now, but my advice would be (to anyone else planning on doing this job) to spray with Duck Oil penetrating release a few days prior to removal, then get the car to operating temperature before trying to remove them. Use a little copper slip on the thread before inserting new plugs and don't, repeat don't over torque.

Keep us posted on progress.

She should start and run fine on 3 glow plugs, they're not used unless it's cold anyway. If you opt to have it removed its a new head gasket timing belt and water pump cost added to the job

Just wanted to find out if someone can get it out without removing the head thread on plug in fine wanted to try a easyout tool myself but would like someone who's done it before to try it if it head off then I will just leave it

I'm sure it could be removed with the head in situ problem is it's damaged already and a piece of swarf or similar and you could do a world of damage. Head off is the safest option or just leave it IMO

I don't know how helpful... but have a view of these... but also you could leave till when it becomes an issue to be on only 3 out of 4 glow plugs...

I gotta agree with Doc my own view would also be swarf/more damage with further activity...

Obviously it's better to get the engine as hot as possible first before trying to get the plug remains out. A splined key rather than a torx key is better . Don't use an "easy-out" as these invariably break leaving you a bigger problem than when you started. The heat treatment of easy-outs makes them hard and brittle and therefore easy to break.
Some diesel workshops have all the necessary equipment to remove broken glow plugs in-situ as this is not an uncommon problem.
Have you tried a google search ? Try searching on "broken glow plug removal " You will find glow plug extraction kits on Ebay.
