Hellodave.

Do you have the price and part numbers for the parts that are needed for those mods?
Is there much involved in doing the exterior leds on the handles?
Cheers
Once you know how to take the handles off (Audi's instructions are a hindrance not a help!) fitting the LEDs is quite easy. Note that this was on a standard car - if you've got keyless entry things could be different. Undo one grub screw to get the handle off, pull out the blanking plate and fit the LED, then run a wire from behind the handle (avoiding the window runners) through the OEM grommet into the inner door. This wire is connected to earth and pin 5 on the 6 pin connector in the door module. The hardest part is securing the wire inside the door - you can attach it to the door lock cables using cable ties but there's no room to get two hands in so it's fiddly.
If you fit everything there's a lot of parts involved, but you can also just fit the exterior LEDs and light bar and leave the rest. The parts for the front doors are:
Door Handle LED
L/R exterior peripheral light: 4H0 947 133 A (L), 4H0 947 134 A (R)
Flat contact housing: 4H0 973 702 x2
Repair wire for above: 000 979 034 E x2
Repair wire 000 979 009 E for 6 pin connector x1
Door trim light bar
Light fibres :
4G0 919 173A (L Front)
4G0 919 174A (R Front)
Lamps for ambience lighting: 4G0 947 355 B (L), 4G0 947 355 C (R)
2 pin Contact housing w/locking mechanism: 4B0 971 832 x2
Repair wires for above and 32 pin connector: 000 979 009 E x3
Red door warning light
Door warning light: 6Y0 947 411 x2
2 pin flat contact housing: 893 973 632 x2
Repair wire for above: 000 979 021 E x2
Pins for other end: not needed, wired in parallel with lower puddle light
Entry/puddle light (lighting pack LED version replaces std incandescent)
Light: 4E0 947 415 A x2
Connector housing: 8E0 972 623 x2
Repair wire for above: 000 979 018 E x2
That lot will cost about £180 from a main dealer. If you only want to fit the exterior LEDs and light bar it will cost just under £100 (for the front doors).
If you want to do the rear doors as well you'll need everything above again, but:
The rear light fibres are: 4G0 919 177A (L Rear), 4G0 919 178A (R Rear)
You'll need an extra 000 979 009 repair wire to connect the new rear puddle lights to the door module.
Cars without the lighting pack don't have rear puddle lights so you'll also need to cut a hole in the door card for them. You can reuse the incandescent puddle lights from the front doors in the rear, which would save about £31.

Alright guys haven't posted in a while. I notice there was a recent update with vcds any noticeable difference?
i had the Speed sign recognition working for a while about a year ago but forgot to post. Is it still needed?
Anyone got a good link on unit removal as the 20gb hdd is way too low (in my opinion) was looking at something like the samsung ssd.
Can this cause problems?

Yes if you could post what you had done for the speed recognition that would be fantastic.
Cheers.

An SSD is something that I've considered too, but then not actually done. IIRC it uses an IDE connection rather than SATA; but that's not a problem as you can buy specific IDE SSDs.

Yeah chavygeeza I too would love to know what you did to get that working and what bits you have (see what I did there :approve: :approve: :approve:) in terms of spec. That would be much appreciated.

Wonder if ssd would speed things up in the media system. If anyone has a link please feel free to share.
i will get the scan done later tonight. Only way I can tell that the system works is in the head up display and not anywhere else.
Sometimes it says "out of operation" which I though defo needs more work but never got around doin as was happy with it working.
mines the 2011 model so well out dated especially the sat nav, think that's half the problem maybe as there's not speed encoded if camera fails to detect

That sounds great thanks. A few of us have got as far as it saying "out of operation" but none of us have managed to get a speed displayed yet.

Yeah no probs, I will send you one tomorrow. Don't know how much use it will be though as mine is an A7.
Infact a lot of those faults will go if you do a scan, clear all faults and then rescan. I had one on the abs module from a tyre pressure warning and is gone now I've cleared it.

Hellodave.

Long shot but...my car has the standard 2 zone climate control without a display, which is a bit rubbish. I had a test drive in an RS6 at the weekend, which had 4 zone AC, and noticed the temperature is displayed on the AC control panel and MMI screen. This got me thinking - presumably both AC options can send the set temperature via the CAN bus so could a 2 Zone car be reconfigured to show the temperature on the MMI display?
Has anyone tried this? I wonder if it's possible via VCDS and/or the green MMI menu?
Even the standard A4 SE courtesy car I had (with basic radio and no proper MMI) could show the selected temperature on the main display! :(

I'd be interested in this also. It's something my previous A6 C6 had. I do remember it stopped displaying in that car for some reason and I used vcds to investigate and turned it back on in the hvac / climate settings. Unfortunately I'm away on holidays :), so I can't check out.

I am in the USA and we have different rules so the VCDS may be used to choose alternate options that are not available here. I was wondering if anyone in the UK could help me with the ACC on an A6? In the USA the ACC will follow to a complete stop but irrelevant of the duration of the stop it requires driver intervention to get going again. I thought the in the EU that the A6 will follow without driver intervention if the stop is of a short duration? The following text is an explanation of the issue for the VCDS change:I want the ACC to "follow" the car in traffic without intervention, which is what some Audi's do in ROW. I think that there is an EU video that shows this. I do not think that it is a "necessary" safety feature unless Audi implements this like an Audi 5000 with "unintended acceleration"!
I would like some help with this if anybody has tried this:
13 - Auto Distance Regulator.
16 - Security Access.
This is where I need the help - this access code allows for the subsequent step but I do not have a code and Ross-Tech does not either. They told me that if they knew it then it would show up. If I had the code then it would enable me to change the following:
10 - Adaptation.
select "Driving off without Driver Trigger After Short Stop"
select Yes or Do It (I don't remember).
I think this will give me the desired results but without the code it's not possible. Would appreciate if some body has accessed this module and, if so, what is the security code? Thank you.

I would like to know if this is possible too.
In the UK our cars allow 'automatic go' for a duration of a about 3 secs, then it requires intervention. I read in some countries, probably not within the EU, it is enabled up to 3 minutes.

How funny! I came to this thread with exactly razor77's query, which I first raised on page 1 of this thread 2.5 years ago (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?132245-A6-C7-VCDS-Tricks&p=717615#post717615) and was just bracing myself for reading all 28 pages to see if anyone had found the answer, and it was the most recent post.
So, pretty please, how do I get the three minutes? That's just what I want.
The answer lies in finding the security code to gain access to Module 13 to perform the adaptation update. It's quite possible it hasn't been cracked if Ross-Tech don't know it.
MF.

Ross-Tech do not know, I asked them, so they asked me to send an official enquiry to a "tweak" with a scan of my modules.

According to the folks over at audi-sport.net, module 13 security code is 14117. This is for the 8V A3, but I think they are mostly the same for all the models. I have yet to try this out for myself and won‘t have the time for a bit either, but maybe one of you guys would like to try it?

While we wait for that (which would be great!) is there any way to make the speedometer and tachometer lighting dimmer?

I have a knob for that beside the light switch, don‘t you? It‘s a small recessed black knob, which pops out if you press it, and the by turning it you can adjust the brightness. At least it adjusts the HUD display brightness for me and I think it also adjusts the overall brightness (but I could be wrong on this, have to check tomorrow).

Yes, but I want it dimmer than the dimmest setting.
I still have not cracked the module 13 security code. I have tried 14117, 20113 and 13674, all to no avail. The quest continues!

Note that I have hidden all the channels that say Error Not Available, these were 8 to 98 and 100 to 255.
The security code unlocks channels 5, 6 & 99, anyone know what these do?
Also if you save channel 00, it restores the factory defaults.

Hope the test goes well tomorrow....keep that right foot covering the brake ;-)

And once this is sorted out, can I beg someone in the South East to do it for me? My "normal" area of operation is southeast of a line joining Cambridge and Stratford upon Avon, so is anyone in that quadrant able to help?

Sorry but it's late here in SoCal and I won't get to it today but the text is different and I don't remember exactly except that you check on the text that was implying "without driver intervention for a short time" and then it reads the value as no. Change it to yes and re read. As I say I haven't tried it but I hope to find a guinea pig tomorrow. If I rear end somebody then I guess it didn't work!

Monday,11,November,2014,16:07:18:59900
VCDS -- Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator
VCDS Version: 14.10.0.0 (x64)
Data version: 20141022
I don't have the dropdown list under module 13, unless I missed it, I will check.
When you get chance the before and after adaptations data would be great, we can then see what has changed and then re-code in line, I hope it is either channels 5,6 or 99 as these are the ones unlocked by the security code......and good luck guinea pigging!

Thanks for the data, there isn't much data around regards VCID's and the coding, I've translated in to decimal, but looks like more tinkering is needed to understand the data. Your changes are summarised below in red:
A6 Original VCID : 285FF22A5369E35EF37-807D
A6 New VCID : 285FF22A5369E36107B-807D

A6 New Decimal Value : 11916534365825541738619-32893
I think the key to this is the before and after adaptation channel scan details.
Hopefully my next post will be the status of if it works. I will not know for about 3 hours. I am surprised that one parameter change is so significant, I was expecting one byte in one word to be changed but the binary change listed above is significant.

Looks like adding 8516 to the decimal translated value in your case might do the trick.
In terms of the decimal number, on the parking brake module, when I activated 'not putting your foot on the foot brake' and 'not wearing your seat belt' to allow handbrake removal, it adds 50892 to the decimal figure, so its not that inconceivable.
We will get there and everyone with ACC will likely want the upgrade, mine currently cuts off at below 20mph which is annoying.
It is strange the BS laws around the world that Audi tries to accommodate.
This mod kind of works, at least, it's step in the right direction:
My car used to follow a car to a complete stop and then I needed to either touch the accelerator or pull the ACC lever once for it to then slowly pull away following the car in front. Now, when it comes to a complete stop I get a message where the gear display is saying "ACC Stop Active" (or something like that) but it is only there for one second and it then requires intervention like before. Obviously this is useless as most stops are longer than one second so now the goal is to increase the delay during stop to keep the ACC active.
Timothy Nathan
12-11-2014, 10:31 PM
Mine has always remained active for 3 seconds with no intervention, and a further 15 seconds if the lever is pulled. I want to increase those numbers. It's not a matter of getting it to move without intervention.
Hopefully there is a screen shot attached.
I just enabled - Starting off with pretrigger by driver. (It may be the 15 second from Timothy) I'll try it tomorrow. I cannot find anything else relevant to our cause.
The VCID did not change from before the change.

So, if I understand things, there are some people who are saying that there is a way to make the numbers larger, but cannot decode what that method is, and others who say that they have looked and cannot find a way.
Is that a fair summary?
Who would know?
I do not see how to make the "stopped" duration longer. I sent Ross-Tech the issue but they didn't even know the security code. The options may be different depending on location I.E. ROW, US SA etc.
Your Assessment is correct and this thread is the most advanced that I have seen on this subject.
Are others seeing the same page as my attached picture?

DB, I can see your attached picture at post #304, if I click on it you get a large image that can be read.
You are correct as most the other discussions are talking security codes.
Can you post your full channel adaptation map after entering the security code: here's mine that can be modified:

No problem, Its under the Applications button on the main VCDS screen.
1) Click Applications.
2) Click Controller Channel Map button.
3) Input the Controller Address number (eg 13 for ACC).
4) Input the Login or Security Code for that controller/module (91153 for ACC). (I had to put 12345 and then add 91153 at the second screen to get it to work?)
5) Under Function select Adaptation.
6) Under Output select CSV (the file outputted can then be opened in excel and manipulated as my previous post was).
7) Click Go and the file will be stored in your VCDS/Logs folder.
Hope this helps, post your results when done ;-)
(You will get lots of channels that say Error not available, I've just hidden them before posting above, but you shouldn't get any that say security code required)
I'll get to it when I can and post. Thanks for info..

Last night I enabled "Starting off with pretrigger by driver". This now allows for the one second time out, which then disables the ACC, so I then do a pretrigger but I do not know how long the pretrigger hold before it turns the ACC off. The infor above is from the file that I got from your instructions.

Hi DB,
A step closer eh, do you have the channel numbers that relate to each of the lines?
(It might be worth doing a scan of the measuring blocks also for your future reference, same process but select measuring blocks instead of Adaptation)
The above is useful if calibration/alignment is needed in the future, you know what to aim for when adjusting etc.
I suspect there will be some read across between the A6 and A4 adaptation channels.
The channels designations I know at the moment on the A4 are:
Channel 3 - Heater For Radar Unit - Set by 1 or 0
Channel 7 - Activation of ACC distance selection menu in MMI- Set by a 1 or 0

Interesting, if you put in the security code under the ACC and then go Adaptation-10 you should be able to step through each channel and relate the descriptions to each channel number.

This looks like the difference in software protocols, yours is running UDS. How did the driving testing go after the changes you have made? The driving went well although experiencing the right circumstances is difficult. Sometimes the car in front would not quite stop so mine would not activate but eventually it happened: my car stopped behind the car in front and the message popped up saying ACC stop actuated, or something like that, but it only stayed on for a second before it switched off. At that point I pulled the ACC lever and the message returned and stayed there until the car in front pulled away and then my car followed without further intervention. I do not know how long it will stay activated though - maybe 15 seconds? So the mission is almost accomplished but I wish we could just leave it in the mode for a long time, some stop lights around here can be a 2 minute wait.

Not sure it's intended to be used that way otherwise you'd blind pedestrians and cyclists who are daft enough not to use proper lights or reflective gear - or vehicles emerging from side roads. Doesn't mean it can't be done though as I think it can be turned off. I find it of limited use especially where you've just passed someone and you can see some more lights coming around the next corner. I'd normally leave them on dip, but I've never had a problem with needing to upgrade lights as my night vision is pretty good so never use full beam in urban areas for example.
Update: Finally deactivated the stupid and annoying HBA in MMI. Experimented with late and early settings, and although the former is slightly better the whole setup is infuriating for the typical rural A roads I normally use where traffic is several hundred metres apart. It wouldn't be so bad if when you did override it the next movement of the light stalk maintained the alternative option - but no, it reverts to bloody Auto. How many cars have I flashed by accident....

The difference in prices will be comparing rip off cables and software against genuine supported versions supplied by Ross Tech.

The holy grail being to get that ACC time lengthened. My status is that it will stay on for about 2 seconds after a complete stop and then I have to pull the ACC stalk about once every 10 seconds to keep re-enabling it. There is no option for permanent enabling so I will have to start experimenting. The only problem is telling the person, that you just rear ended, that it was only a test and that you really weren't driving.:D

A couple of things about the Brake in P thing.
Firstly, there seem to be two, independent, flags. One is the "Shift P to EPB" documented here, the other has a more narrative title, like "Park Brake when in P" or something (sorry, I don't have the car in front of me to get the exact words.) Do we know the difference?
Secondly, it doesn't put the brake on when the car is in Park. Rather, the effect is to put the EPB on when I shut down and open the door.
Any ideas?

Does it make any difference whether you had the Auto-hill-hold thing turned on or not? (I forget the exact name, it's the button below the parking brake which has a red light).

Looks like you may not need memory seats then. You might need to set it though. Put your car in reverse and select the left mirror with your control switch, then set the position you would like it to move to when reversing. Leave the switch where it is and drive off, at about 7 mph it should move back to your normal position. Select reverse again and it should dip. If not you need to switch it on with VCDS.

should work straight away. You need to have the adjuster knob set to the passenger side and select reverse. Adjust the mirror to the dip angle required. It will then remember that setting the next time you engage reverse
Chances are the dip is set at the normal angle hence why you aren't seeing it dip, so you must adjust it initially to the desired dip

You do not need memory seat, but I have to activat it with VCDS in my A6 allroad 2013mod Ditto. I'm in 2 minds whether to deactivate it as although it's slightly useful for parking near a kerb, it's also made me realise how much I use that mirror for reversing (when it's useless). It'll be interesting to see if attaching a trailer (or at least the electrics) overrides the dipping function. If not I'll try setting the dip to the normal driving setting to see if that works as a temporary fix before disabling through VCDS if not.
One frustration is it doesn't consistently return to its normal driving position after reversing and so needs a tweak anyway! Not always though.
Hi folks,
not sure if this has been mentioned yet since i have been just skimming through the 37 pages of this thread.
I have just a quick question, does these VCDS mods work on the 2015 facelift? VIM is the particular one i am interested in.
another quick question if someone has the answer, is the audi connect thing, does the 2015 FL still have the issues with iphone 6(non RSAP phones)? will i need a separate sim as i dont fancy having to yank out my sim and put it back every time i drive the car. in this day and age with wireless tech etc thats to me is a JOKE if thats what needs to be done.
I'm picking up a 2015 spec car on saturday. 2.0l ultra with tech pack, electric seats, folding mirrors and advance key.

Not just an Apple issue rSAP is no longer really being offered. Android phones offer require an app in order to allow them to support rSAP. Next generation cars will adopt Apple or Google car apps so the issue should go away. Still can't really understand why in this day and age car manufacturers can't work via wifi connection between the two devices for all the smart features since the phone stuff can all be handled by Bluetooth

Hi everyone!
scanded through all the thread, got lots of goodinfo and ideas to what to modify in my a6 c7 allroad.
Though I have a questiom if anyone knows/did setting change for surround parking cameras/parking sensors to be able to turn on at higher speed then default (something around 10km/h). Sometimes you have to hold and wait till cameras engage to start parking...
would be very usefull to have it possible to turn on cameras on speed around 30km/h, like you can on bmw parking cameras/sensors.

Set Audi Parking system - Switch off Speed.
[10 - Park/Steer Assist] [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 23 Set to 20. (Max Speed in km/h)
Try the above, Mine came with 10 and I set it to 20. Unfortunately 20km/h is the max available.

Thanks indeed!!
another question: is it possible to retrofit original remote heating to make it work as from factory would? Somehow I didn't ordered aka "webasto" to be fitted in factory, though I now I would definetaly like to have it. Audi dealer offers only aftermarket webasto. But maybe it is possible to install oem heating items and make settings enable all the needed controls, remote control acception and etc...?

If anyone ever finds out, I'm looking for the MMI changes needed via VCDS to make the DVD player in 3G+ goto region free (REGION 0)
Normally they are locked to region 2 in the UK & AUDI dealers can change it up to 5 times but region free means you can play any region DVD (I have a boat load from region 1 - USA).
Thanks

another question: is it possible to retrofit original remote heating to make it work as from factory would?
Install aftermarket Eberspächer, it is better brand and has better remote control (more features like adjusting heating time on the fly, cabin temp display, heater error codes etc). Then you only lack automatic supplementary heating while driving which should not be used due to that it smokes the burner too much. I rarely use MMI for heater. You just have to make tricks (dealer should know) to not let the CAN sleep for cabin heating.
Hi guys I'm totally new to the forum. I have an A6 C7 s line
Just wondering if there are any UK members in the Essex/London/Hertfordshire area that is experienced with VCDS and can be kind enough to help activate a few if these tricks??

Yes. Sometimes though mirror does not return to default position. This may be caused by micro manoeuvring in that you don't move forward enough to return to default before reversing again, at which point when you drive off it over compensates by returning to a higher point. It only works if the knurled knob for adjusting mirrors is set to left position. In use, if I am reversing, I leave knob in middle position and if I want to see the kerb, then move it to the left position and it then works. Hope that helps.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting this together. Just got a C7 so I'll be hitting some of these tips with the lappy and VAG COM tomorrow :beerchug:
Just been trying a couple of these out on my 2013 A6 with mixed results.
I can't make passenger door mirror dip on selecting reverse work. The relevant byte is set to 5E, which means that bits 2 and 3 are already set, but the mirror dip definitely doesn't work. I've tried setting it to 5C (turning off bit 1) and 56 (turning off bit 3) but neither worked. Not sure what's different about my car: no electric seats, folding heated mirrors.
The other one was close electric boot lid from key. The suggested option, "activation using rear lid opening button in remote key - Touch function for closing" was already active, but it wasn't working. Enabling "activation using rear lid opening button in remote key - Tap function for closing" instead did work. I'm not sure what the difference is between touch and tap - I'd guess it was the difference between a brief press, and holding the button down, but with "touch" set, I couldn't make it work.

What a brilliant post this is, so much info and knowledge sharing.....
I'd love to enable some of these on my 2015 A6 Avant 2.0 TDi Ultra.
If there is anyone who would be willing to help out with enabling some of these options, I would be very greatful and gladly sort you out with some nice wine / case of beer.. :D
I am hoping to purchase my own VCDS cable in the future, but can't justify the (approx) £270 cost at the moment.
I live in West Yorkshire but would be willing to travel anywhere in Yorkshire or similar / reasonable distance.
I know there are a few people who have offered to help others earlier in this post, but as I'm new to the forum I can't PM directly.

VIM
Auto handbrake when Shift into P
Close electric boot lid from key
Parking brake release without seat belt on
Enable ripping from CD to MMI HDD
Much appreciated!

Mine has the "wee square touch pads" but it doesn't have keyless entry. If you've never seen it working, be sure the dealer didn't mistake it for keyless go, they all have this. if it should definitely have keyless entry then its a faulty sensor. If one sensor is gone then none will work.
Whatever, I would go back to the dealer and get him to sort it out.

Picked up my new facelift Black Edition earlier in the week and have been out with the laptop and VCDS. The one I don't seem to be able to get working is the one to automatically apply the handbrand when shifting into P (Automatic) - any ideas? The adaptation has been accepted and is showing as activated, but nothing happens.
Any ideas?
My fl does this out the factory without any coding.
You need to take the seatbelt off for it to apply handbrake fully

Doesn't work on mine...
So, handbrake does not apply even though I've set the correct values; does not apply when the engine has been turned off, nor does the engine turn off when you open the drivers side door.
My previous BE did this, so I know it's possible, just not sure why it's not

Disable/memorize/invert Start & Stop:
- module 09-Cent. Elec.
- enter Security Code (20113)
- Adaptation on Channel 34:
subtract 4 to the value --> Start&Stop always disabled
add 32 to the value --> memorize last status (the Start & Stop status at engine startup will be the one at last engine shutdown)
- test & save
In addition of these values, if you add 64 to the value, the Start & Stop button light will be reversed: off if Start & Stop is disabled, and on if Start & Stop is enabled.
Found from several forums, original maybe audizine, also audipassion (FR) and a5oc. Tested "add 32" on my 2012 3.0 TDI car and it works. Original was 20.

Button light represents always the status of the ss feature activated, not if the actual stop sequence is active. So leave it disabled (led on as the button text is ssa off, or inverted if the bit 6 is set) and next morning the led is lit and function is disabled. In the FIS is displayed green symbol when the ss sequence is active, or symbol with stroke over if it is not active when it should be (due to turning ofg steering or low batt or what ever.)

Go to 09, enter security code, enter adaptation, choose channel 34, you will see value in there, now add 32 to this value for SS status to be memorised, let's say value in channel 34 is 1000, you add 32 that will give new value 1032, press test and save, SS status will be now memorised

Now that we know that the Stop Start setting can be held from whatever it was set at when the ignition is turned off for the next restart. I wonder if it's possible to do the same for the auto hold assist on pre 2013 cars. So the auto hold can be set at whatever your preference is and it remembers it for the next time the ignition is cycled on.
Any idea if this is possible?

Also I can't seem to enable the hidden menu or more specifically can't find the correct Channel. Instead of Channel 6 I see a huge list of options and can't see the obvious one. Is the latest facelift car on MY15 changed things again? I have a long list of what appears to be menu items too.

Bit 4:0 was btw explained somewhere that it defaults the SSA disabled, so it may not fully disable the SSA... maybe just a translation difference, who knows.

Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for driver’s side. Electrical adjustment for seat forwards and
backwards position, seat height, angle and backrest angle adjustment, 4-way lumbar support, driver’s seat with memory

Hi thx for posting , my model is a 2012 so may not be the same.....need to find 2012 brochure and double check
I just happen to have a March 2012 brochure. This is what it says for the corresponding entry:
Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function for driver’s side. Electrical adjustment for seat forwards and
backwards position, seat height, angle and backrest angle adjustment, 4-way lumbar support, driver’s seat with memory function.
Only available in combination with exterior mirrors with memory function (6XG/6XL/6XF/6XM). Also available as part of the comfort
package (WB1) – please see page 40
I also have a brochure from September 2011 which has the same exact entry for PV3
The WB1 Comfort Package entry on page 40 says:
Comfort package, featuring Audi parking system advanced (camera), advanced key, electrically adjustable front seats with
memory function for driver's side and 4-way lumbar support.
Audi parking system advanced (KA2) – uses a rear-view camera to display the area behind the car on the MMI unit when reversing.
Also includes steering path
Advanced key (4F2) – allows the driver to keep their key in their pocket or bag at all times. To unlock and open you simply lift the
exterior door handle. The door is locked by pressing the button on the handle
Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function (PV3) – the front seats are electrically adjustable and include memory
function for the driver's seat. Also includes electrically adjustable 4-way lumbar support
For more details please see pages 25, 52 and 53
No mention of memory mirrors here, though. Does your car have the Comfort Package?
Cheers!

Without the 2012 brochure in front of me I am fairly certain that 6XG and 6XM are non-folding memory mirrors with and without auto dimming. These two options have been dropped from the current car. Memory mirrors are only available with memory seats for some inexplicable reason that does not go as far as VW (who provide dipping mirror as standard without any electric adjustment to the seats) and could easily be offered as has been shown by those with access to VCDS

6XG is memory mirrors without the folding function. You are right, they're not there.

The question is should they be there ?
I guess I haven't got the comfort package as I have 6 cameras, - comfort package just has rear camera
thx to all who have responded

No, they weren't chosen or the code would be different.
Anyone figured out how to permanently remember the auto hill hold? It turns off every time the car is switched off. (2013 model).

Picked up my new FL Avant Ultra a few days ago. Overall very pleased. Used VCDS successfully for the following tweaks:
1.Enabling Gauge Test/Needle Sweep
2. Enabling Lap Timer
4. Beep on lock
15. Enable auto handbrake when shift into P
Also tried:
16. Close electric boot lid from key
[Select]
[46 - Cent Conv]
[Coding - 07]
Click on byte 2, bit 2
Tick Comfort operation: Remote control (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Syma-S107G-Edition-Gyro-Version-RED/dp/B0037THXR4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353683431&sr=8-2) active
[Do It!]
[Select]
[4D - Trunk Elec]
[Security Access - 16]
Input 12345
[Adaption - 10]
Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key - Touch function for closing
Change to ACTIVE
[Do It!]
Unfortunately this one didn't work for me. In fact the factory delivered settings were already exactly the same as the tweak. Using VCDS output tests I was able to close the boot with the software but not with the remote key. So it's obviously possible.
Any ideas please anyone. Has anyone else got it working with anew FL model,
Thanks. Glynn

This is from 2012 model, but check that both tap and touch are not activated at the same time:
6D – Trunk electronics
Security access – 16 = 12345
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Touch function for closing) from active to not active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Touch function for closing) from active to not active
This will result:
remote opening – long press - touch
remote closing – short press - tap
door closing – short press – tap
Touch = long press is set for opening to prevent accidentally opening the hatch.
Again, from 2012 not FL.

In my a8 2012, coming/leaving home lighting for front is DRL and main beam. Is it possible to alter it? I want just DRL on.

Look at 9 central electronics, could be byte5 where are CH/LH settings. I do not remember the exact place but yes, it is possible at least in A6 C7 where it is done by all-weather lights not drl leds. VCDS should tell it when you surf to correct byte.

If we could all agree to send email to Ross-Tech stating that we want an off-line feature for VCDS? In that way one could scan the vehicle, store needed label files and chassis as a config setting and then actual coding strings so that in off-line we can see the settings without going to the cold carage or under rain at the car park...Storing adaptation could be more difficult but can be done, too, at least to some extent.
A lot of these questions could be answered easier, because I remember seen such tweaks but don't remember where they are...

Hey..
Do anyone know how to unlock navigation on my audi a6 3.0tdi from 2012?
I have been told that it is just a code, then a SD-card.
Can anyone help with that?
thanks!

Seeing as you are in Denmark, was navigation installed as standard or not? The A6 is not like the A1 and A3 where everything is there from day one and just needs unlocking by the dealer in exchange for money. If the MMI unit does not have the Navigation hardware then you will need to upgrade the unit. If it is installed then the correct course of action will be to go to the dealer and get them to supply the maps SD card and activate the navigation. Websites offering SD Card maps with activation codes are only relevant if the navigation system is already activated and the code is just to unlock the maps. These sites are unofficial and there are mixed reviews as to whether they work or not. This post MMI completely broken - what to do? (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/171092-MMI-completely-broken-what-to-do) might put you off going down the unofficial route!

OK. Not something we have experience of here in the UK as all C7 A6s come with Navigation active from the factory

What do you mean by ' not unlocked' , is there component protection on it? Or something else, explain it, please.

Dont know..
Bought the car as it had navi, but a guy from something here in DK call'd VAGSHOP told me that I just need'd a code to unlock the unit, then plug'n the SD map.

Do you have scanner, like VCDS? You could scan it and see. What happens when you press navigation button?

Sounds as if in Denmark the cars come with the hardware installed but in order to use it you have to pay the dealer to activate it. Same process here in the UK on the A1 and A3. I presume that Benjamin is trying to avoid paying the dealer to supply the maps and unlock the system. Seems to be a high risk strategy not to go to the dealer as it could toast the MMI unit as per the other post I linked. Plus in my opinion a high end unit from TomTom is probably a better navigation solution that the RMC unit from Audi, except of course for the fact it is integrated into the car

I have a feeling it's the same in USA and the code needs to be activated by the dealers network connected to Germany.

Does not matter if it is new or used, if the original owner has not activated the option then it is not activated. I suspect activation is a dealer only function

Might be because I've not read all posts, but discovered on my FL avant, if I hold the interior boot button it also closes the boot [emoji5]

Yes it does, it's all in the manual. With VCDS you can change it to single press closing (no need to keep on pressing) and also remove the annoying lorry-reversing-sound.
6D – Trunk electronics (MY12)
Security access – 16 = 12345
=
remote opening – long press - touch
remote closing – short press w/o audible warning - tap
door closing – short press w/o audible warning – tap
for audio removal there is an entry in the same adaptation
(why an earth ipad removed all "1"s from my post???)

CANT DO HIDDEN MENU :1zhelp:
I feel I have the gist of this VCDS modding but Hidden Menu is causing me a pain.
I go to 5F, 10 Adaption and Channel 6
As expected its set at 0 - I attempt to change to 1
Test is greyed out but can save....
When I re-read channel 6 its back a 0
and as you would have guessed the Hidden menu (Set-up & Car button press) does not work even after MMI reboot
Any ideas while value 1 will not store?

It's something Audi should have had as an option in the mmi menu. Plus it world have reduced the wear and tear, hence warranty claims

Agreed.

many thxit is not possible. I too feel like cutting the wire to the motor, it seems stupid to close the screen only when you are not in the car.

If u find out what colour the wire is let me know and I will cut mine ,when warranty expires LOL.
be a miracle if the screen motor had its own fuse , screen out ,pull fuse - done
Any VCDS experts out there that could out a coding for this ?

To be honest that's not good idea. If you leave car in full sun couple of times, you risk to get discolouration on your screen. Also there is temp sensor somewhere in unit or screen, at least in my A8, I was travelling for around 21 hours in one day in very hot weather in Europe, suddenly screen close it self down, but system still worked, radio, sat nav. Stopped on fuel station, for 20-25 minutes car in shade. Start car after this break and screen opened. When I got back to UK, check car with VCDS, there was fault on 5f with can't remember exactly what but something like 'system closed/ retracted due to temp'. As I say it happened once, but that gave me to think there must be sensor somewhere.

I park in the garage at home and at work but when parked in the sun I always use a wind shield pop-up sun screen to protect the dash from fading and cracking. I also vent the car with the sun roof cracked open. This would protect the MMI from the 130 F protection closure (hopefully) so I still would like to put a switch on the motor to allow for the permanent up position.
