One issue resolved and another issue gained....
the MRS opened by boot and banged into the grill out the house which has kindly left me 2 scratches parallel to one another that go from under the number plate to just the bottom of the edge of the boot near the bumper.
I have used T-CUT and turtle wax polish to try an restore this damage, it doesnt look too bad, but i can still see 2 white lines going down the boot - more annoying than anything especially as i didnt even cause the damage.
Any ideas members? I've seen a touch up pen in halfords that look quite good but wasnt sure on my paint colour at the time as their were so many shades of black for Audis - so i come home an found the base plate in the boot which gave me a paint code number of: LZ9Y/ LZ9Y & N1R/ QE
Any ideas as to what this code means in paint colour terms?

LZ9Y is Phantom Black

If you go on ebay you can buy lacquer pens which make an invisible repair, someone keyed the door on my Audi, and I went across it with compound and colour magic but I still couldnt get the scratch out.
I used a lacquer pen, which resembles a small marker pen they are 99p on ebay and it made an invisible repair.

I've just had a look on eBay an when I type in search lacquer pens for some reason I'm getting fountain pen selections as appose to any 99p pens... Was it recently you purchased them from eBay? thanks

Maybe get a detailers opinion to see if they can remove?

Sorry I should have told you to search for a car scratch pen

Ah yes, seen loads now... I read the description of them an it sounds as though it's just a clear coat that is filled into the scratch? Will this require me to apply my paint colour : phantom black over the top to make it even
Never used this method before hence lack of knowledge
Thanks

My car is a very dark green almost black. and when it was scratched the scratch looked white where it had gone through the clear coat.
I went over it with the pen and the scratch instantly disappeared.
It would depend if the scratch has gone through to the metal.
If it doesn't work it wouldn't matter as you can wipe it straight off without it affecting the paintwork.
Also I tried it on my fathers audi, he has a metallic dark red one and it got rid of 90% of the scratch.
If you buy through ebay make sure that you do your search with "lowest price plus p&p" and you should get one with delivery for under a quid.

Cheers mate I've just purchased the "fix it pro clear car scratch pen" that was the only one available for under a quid so will wait to see if that can cure the problem, only frustrating thing I have to wait 2 weeks as it's coming from hong kong- hurry up!! Thanks for your advice one again, much appreciated. I'm still confused as to how it works, especially as it says it works on ALL colours, so colour in the scratch an it merely disappears.... Hope it does

Ive not looked on ebay, but from its name I suppose it fills in the clear coat that has been scratched.

Yeah that's what I thought but when one of the members posted about his car got scratched, deep enough that it took the paint off, revealing White underneath (same as predicament I'm in at the mo) this pen apparently covers it up very well... Time will tell I guess.

It worked on my car a treat, you may have to go over the area a couple of times to get the pen to cover up the scratch. Mine was also a cheap one from China.
I think its best to use on a warm day as it drys quicker.

Any pics of the result (maybe before and after if possible)?

Figure 1 Figure 2
Figure 1 - Looks like a stone chip but this is where the majority of the impact was caused from hitting the grill on the house under the number plate on boot.
Figure 2 - You can see 2 parallel white lines here that have taken the Phantom Black paint coat off, and has already had 2 coats of T Cut and polish but will not budge. There is also another line but this isnt indicated within the picture.
The after pictures will be posted when products arrive.

It is best to leave it for a warm day, but If you cant wait just go over the area with a hairdryer after using the pen. as it should then dry quickly.
