1.9 did it come with a 6 speed gearbox

Newbie here in the market for a s line B7, can someone tell me if audi produced a 1.9 with a 6 speed gearbox.

Having owned one- no it does not come with a 6 speed box, only 5 speed. What it is though is super economical :)

Thanks for the reply, got told audi did some 07 plates with 6 speed boxes maybe not.

They may well have done as mine was 55 reg- the 2.0TDI 140ps definitely comes with 6-speed and there are more on the market than the 1.9TDI 115ps

Not sure about the B7, but I had a B6 1.9 TDi 130 SE with a 6 speed box.

Yip, B7 1.9 is 5 speed only.
Is it definitely a 1.9 you'd go for?
Have you heard bad stories about the 2.0 in this range?

Hi Joe,

I was wanting a 2.0 but heard about the oil pump fault and it seems a bit hit or miss if the oil pump has been upgraded, if a can find one and i know the works been done then i would go for a 2.0 but nobody seems to know exactly which engine code and vin number were effected.

Yeah I know what you mean. Currently in an '03 passat sport 130 diesel and would like to go for the B7 s line. However my relatives are in the motor trade and keep telling me not to get the 2.0 diesel, they reckon my own car could still be the better car due to the weakness of the 2.0.

However some reckon if you get the right engine code in this engine you should be ok.

Only option is a B7 1.9 but seems like a step down due to 115 bhp, makes me think I should hold on for a B8 CR 143 diesel which should be a 'sorted' engine by now. Still too big a jump in money though and could only afford an SE in this so looks like I'll have to stick where I'm at for now.

Nice to have a yarn about though, let me know what you think.
